The three pillars of our school code of conduct are being Ready to learn, Respecting yourself and others, and taking Responsibility for your learning and actions.
As we move into our second week (and first full week of school), our senior students will be finalizing their course selections, and our junior students will be learning more about what it takes to succeed at Tumbler Ridge Secondary. Students in grades 10-12 wishing to make a course change need to make an appointment with Mrs. Peever (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Mr. Smith (email@example.com).
Permission forms went home last week for media, internet and google apps privileges. The reason these forms need to be signed each year is for compliance with the Personal Information Privacy Act. Some of the digital resources we use store information on servers outside of Canada, so parental permission is needed for your child to use those programs and apps. We have until Thursday, Sept 12th to get students re-registered for access. After the 12th, students who do not have their forms into the school will be denied access to the school’s digital resources until their forms are in. If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch with the school.
Students are reminded that the school property extends to the parking lot, field, and pathways around the school, and includes the areas around the gaga pit. Any student who rides a bike, scooter, or skateboard etc to school must wear a helmet when riding on school property. If students do not have a helmet, they must walk their bike/scooter/skateboard etc on and off of school property.
